An independent damp and mould survey for your buyers, sellers, landlords and clients. We find the cause and sell nothing afterwards.
When a buyer's survey flags damp, the sale can stall while everyone waits to find out whether it is a small repair or a big job. Send the buyer to a firm that sells damp proofing and they come back with a quote. Send them to us and they come back with an answer.
We carry out no remedial work, sell no products and take no commission from anyone who does the repairs. We arrange access through you, inspect what the seller allows, open nothing up, and the written report is ready within 24 hours of the survey.
When to give the buyer or seller our number:
What you can say to them, without checking: “They're independent. They don't sell remedial work, so the survey isn't tied to a treatment quote. Fixed fee, thermal imaging in every survey, and the report belongs to the client to pass to their solicitor.”
Buyers can read my surveyor has recommended a damp survey, what happens now? before they ring.
A tenant reports damp or mould and the landlord needs to know the cause, quickly and in writing. We give the landlord an independent, dated record of what was found, what is causing it and what will fix it, with thermal images and readings, so it gets fixed once.
Your client's survey recommends further investigation of damp before exchange. Our report answers the points their surveyor raised, one at a time, and records what was measured on the day. It belongs to your client, the person named on the booking, and they can share it with you.
We do not time anything to an exchange date, so the earlier your client books once their survey is back, the better. We can usually attend within the week.
The report is a specialist damp and mould investigation. It is not a replacement for a Level 2 or Level 3 survey or a valuation, and it is not prepared for a lender.
Pre-Purchase Damp Survey, the Whole Property Survey with Costings. Every point the buyer's survey raised answered, with indicative costs for the work from a named, dated published source.
Every room, the loft and every outside elevation. Cause and extent, no costings. For owners, sellers and landlords.
The affected rooms and everything that could be causing it. Cause and extent, no costings.
Fixed fees, the figure quoted is the total payable, nothing to pay to book. See a real buyer's report, anonymised with the client's permission: example pre-purchase report (PDF).
Give the client our number, or send us their details with their permission, and Rory will ring them, usually within a couple of hours. Want a few cards for the desk? Ask and we will send some over.
No. We carry out no remedial work, sell no products and take no commission from anyone who does the repairs, and we do not pay for referrals either. That is what keeps the survey independent.

No. We inspect what the seller allows on the day, we do not open anything up, and we leave the house as we found it. Anything we could not get to is named in the report.
The person named on the booking. They can share it with their solicitor, the agent or anyone else they choose. It is not prepared for a lender, a valuer or the seller.
No. We carry out no remedial work and we do not recommend contractors. The report says what class of work is needed, and the client gets their own quotes.
